izna is a six-member girl group under WAKEONE. Originally as seven, they were formed through Mnet’ survival show I-LAND2: N/a and are a collaboration between WAKEONE and producer Teddy Park’s agency The Black Label.
Their name, “izna”, refers to the words “anytime, anywhere, anything”, which means they aim to be a group with no limit to their confidence.
I-LAND2: N/a premiered on April 18, 2024, and the live finale was broadcast on July 4, 2024, where the top seven winners became a girl group named izna. The group was chosen by taking the 5 most voted by I-MATE: Choi Jungeun, Bang Jeemin, Yoon Jiyoon, Koko, Ryu Sarang, and 2 producers’ picks: Mai, and Jeong Saebi.
Prior to their debut in the group, Bang Jeemin was already known for being a contestant in HYBE and Belift Lab’s survival show R U Next?, while Choi Jungeun participated in Mnet’ survival show CAP-TEEN.
izna was supposed to have their first group performance ahead of debut at KCON LA, originally scheduled for July 28, 2024, but it was unfortunately canceled due to unforeseen visa issues. Their first performance before debut finally took place on September 28, 2024 at KCON Germany.
On August 8, 2024, izna’s fandom name was announced on their SNS to be naya, which translates to “it’s me” in Korean, and means “the one who loves and supports izna is me”.
The group performed their self-titled debut song, “IZNA”, as well as a little bit of their b-side “TIMEBOMB” at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS in Osaka on November 22, 2024, teasing their anticipated debut before the official release three days later.
izna finally debuted on November 25, 2024, with the release of their first mini album titled “N/a”.
On February 19, 2025, it was announced by WAKEONE that member Yoon Jiyoon would be going on a hiatus due to health reasons, and that izna will promote as a six-member group for the time being. On August 19, 2025, it was announced that she would be leaving the group.
